On 21st September, the U10 Abbotswood football team got ready to play their first football tournament. The weather was dreadful. We jumped into the mini bus and had a great laugh eating our lunch on the way to Eastleigh. Matthew made us laugh the most.

When we arrived we put our boots on in the car park and walked down to the pitches where the tournament was being held. We were all very excited.

Before the matches began our team had a kick around and warmed up. At first we were put into groups. We were in group A and our games were slightly longer as we had less teams in our group. We had to play for 10 minutes where as the other groups played for 8 minutes.

Our first game was against Thornhill, we won! Our next game was against Fairisle. Unfortunately a goal whilst mid substitution meant we lost this game 1-0. We went on to win our last two group games against St Monica and Bassett Green.

This meant we entered the quarter final again Hollybrook, it was a long wait for this game to begin and the weather was very wet and cold. We lost this game 1-0.

Our team learned a lot from the whole experience.

We had three great parent supporters, even in the rain! My Dad was the loudest by miles!
