A group of children were chosen to take part in a cooking experience at Limewood on the last day of term. These children represented the school impeccably. They were respectful to the public and the hotel itself, their manners were spot on and they suppressed their excitement and sheer joy of the situation until we returned to the mini bus. The children were fantastic from start to finish.
Every skill possible was used in the kitchen. They made their own gnocchi from scratch and blanched it. They peeled, chopped and tore ingredients to make a tomato sauce and then whisked, grated, juiced and crushed ingredients to make a chocolate orange cheesecake. After preparing and cooking the food, they went to sit at the chefs table to enjoy the meals they had created. Whilst eating, they were able to watch the Limewood Chefs at work preparing and cooking meals for the main restaurant. The meal must have been delicious because every platter was cleared.
A special mention to Harry in 6AP, who was awarded a special recognition award, for his culinary skills and passion for cooking. Mrs Smith and Mrs Hatfield will be looking out for him in a few years in the kitchens of Limewood. An amazing day for all.
Many thanks to Limewood for hosting us at their beautiful venue!
