Staff Policies

Abbotswood adopts staff policies from Hampshire County Councils Manual of Personnel Practice. Staff may obtain a copy from the Clerk to the Governors, the School Business Manager or via Hampshire Portal Accounts (office & teachers). Rest assured any request for policies will be treated in the strictest of confidence. Policies include but are not limited to:

  • Capability of staff
  • Absence
  • Pay
  • Family Friendly (Maternity, Paternity, Fleixble working etc)
  • Whistleblowing (Employees and workers who make a ‘protected disclosure’ are protected from being treated badly or being dismissed. The key piece of whistleblowing legislation is the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998. The situations covered include criminal offences, risks to health and safety, failure to comply with a legal obligation, a miscarriage of justice and environmental damage.)

The school also maintains its own policies affecting the school, school staff can access these via Google Drive here : Google Drive | Policies
